Juvenile, born Terius Gray, is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana, also known as Juvie and Juvie the Great. Emerging from the Magnolia Projects in Uptown New Orleans, he became a key architect of the city’s bounce scene before achieving wider success with Cash Money Records in the late 1990s.
His early albums “Being Myself” and “Solja Rags” led to the breakthrough “400 Degreez”, whose singles “Ha” and “Back That Azz Up” helped define Southern hip hop for a generation. As a member of Hot Boys alongside Lil Wayne, B.G. and Turk, he further cemented his influence on late‑90s and early‑2000s rap.
Juvenile has since released numerous albums including “Tha G-Code”, “Project English”, “Juve the Great”, “Reality Check”, “Rejuvenation” and “The Fundamentals”, along with the collaborative project “Just Another Gangsta” with Birdman. Known for his distinctive drawl, storytelling and bounce‑driven production, he remains an important figure in hip hop, performing worldwide and receiving honours in his home city for his cultural impact.
