🎙️ 7 & 8 August - Eugene Pao & Jeremy Monteiro Quartet | Special Show 40 Years of Friendship, Music and Jazz Advent ure In 1986, Jeremy Monteiro first heard Eugene Pao play at The Jazz Club in Hong Kong and was astonished to discover jazz guitar playing of such world-class depth, elegance and fire right here in Asia. That meeting began a friendship and musical collaboration that has now spanned 40 years. Since then, Eugene has worked with jazz greats including Randy Brecker, Eddie Gomez and Steve Gadd, while Jeremy has recorded and performed with artists such as Ernie Watts, Charlie Haden and Al Foster. Together, they have performed at the EFG London Jazz Festival, in China, with the Asian All Stars, and on recordings including a project with Laura Fygi. They have also recorded a duo album featuring the music of Michel Legrand, as well as their joint composition “From Paris to Segré.” On 7 and 8 August, Eugene and Jeremy reunite at the Capitol Jazz Club, joined by Ben Poh on bass and Hong Chanut Techatananan on drums. Over a distinguished career spanning more than two decades, she has earned widespread respect for her musical authority, versatility, and consistently compelling performances. Throughout her career, Alemay has collaborated with an exceptional range of international artists, including David Foster, Gregory Porter, Incognito, Ray Parker Jr., Nat Adderley Jr., Ernie Watts, Randy Brecker, Antonio Hart, Jay Anderson, Lewis Nash, Janis Siegel, Lauren Kinhan, and Bobby Soul of The Platters. Over four formative years as an active recording and performing artist, Natasha established herself as Thailand’s only jazz vocalist with a sustained international presence. Renowned for her crystal-clear tone and refined sense of rhythm and phrasing, Natasha is particularly admired for her interpretations of Brazilian music, where subtlety and timing are essential. Long regarded as leading figures on Hong Kong’s jazz scene, the Carpio brothers have developed the kind of musical rapport that only comes from a lifetime of performing together. A two-time MOBO Award winner for Best Jazz Act, she has performed at major jazz festivals, concert halls, and clubs across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Rooted in jazz while drawing naturally from soul and reggae, Brown's music combines strong melodies, rhythmic groove, and an instinctive approach to improvisation. As a bandleader and composer, she has established a distinctive voice that is contemporary while remaining firmly connected to the jazz tradition. Brown has performed with Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Diana Krall, The Temptations, Billy Ocean, Dave Stewart, and Bill Laurance of Snarky Puppy. Whether leading her own ensemble or appearing as a guest artist, she brings warmth, musicality, and an engaging stage presence to every performance. Yolanda is also a passionate advocate for music education.
