Jack Johnson is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from the North Shore of O‘ahu, Hawaii, United States. Known for a mellow, beach-influenced style, he blends acoustic, folk rock and soft rock with warm vocals and unhurried grooves.
After early work as a surfer and filmmaker, Johnson emerged with the debut album "Brushfire Fairytales", followed by "On and On" and the breakout "In Between Dreams". Subsequent albums include "Sleep Through the Static", "To the Sea", "From Here to Now to You", "All the Light Above It Too" and "Meet the Moonlight". He also created the soundtrack "Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George", which featured the international hit single "Upside Down". Other well-known songs include "Better Together", "Banana Pancakes" and "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing".
Beyond music, Johnson co-founded Brushfire Records and has supported environmental and community initiatives, notably through the Kōkua Hawaii Foundation and sustainable touring practices. He continues to record and perform, maintaining a reputation for intimate songwriting and laid-back, acoustic-led arrangements.
