If you plan to stay within Trento itself, it is best to stay in its Old Town which is considered the heart of the city. Not only will you find the city’s best selection of accommodation, but you’ll also find its best selection of restaurants, shops, and bars. The area is also central to the city’s biggest attractions including the cathedral and medieval castle.

Since Trento is a small city, it’s easy enough to stay in one of the neighbourhoods surrounding the city centre including Piedicastello, Le Albere, and San Guissepe. While these neighbourhoods offer less charm and convenience, they are much cheaper and still within easy reach of the city’s attractions.

Alternatively, opt for a secluded stay in one of the hotels or chalets dotted around the Dolomites that offer easy access to Trento. As well as peace and tranquility, they promise exceptional views of the region’s incredible mountains. Meanwhile, small villages like Balbido-rango and Moena are better for those who like peace and quiet, but not total isolation.
