Founded in 2018, Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami (better known simply as Inter Miami) are a football team playing in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference.
History
MLS renewed interest in a Miami-based expansion franchise in 2012, and the following year the club began discussing the possibility with former Manchester United and Real Madrid star David Beckham after his retirement, as he had been offered the option to buy an expansion team as part of his move to LA Galaxy in 2007.
The club was formally founded 5 years later, with Beckham among the co-owners of the franchise, and the team began playing in 2020.
Inter Miami made history by signing Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi in 2023.
