The Indoor Hockey World Cup is an international field hockey competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH). The host country, continental champions, and those topping the most recent World Cup final rankings will qualify for the event which is held every 4 years.
The indoor tournament was inaugurated in 2003 and every edition follows a similar format. As a 6-a-side indoor competition made up of 24 teams (12 men's and 12 women's), the 6-day event showcases the highest calibre of non-stop action in every game. The qualified teams are divided into 2 pools. The top 2 in their pool qualify for first to fourth classification, while third and fourth qualify for fifth to eighth classification. The last 2 teams will play for the remaining place.
In 2023, both the men's and women's tournament finals were contested by Austria and the Netherlands. Austria won the men's competition on penalties after their final ended in a 4-4 draw, while in the women's competition the Netherlands ran out comfortable 7-0 winners.
The 2025 edition will be held in Poreč, Croatia.
