Hapoel Tel Aviv Basketball Club, also known as Hapoel U-NET Tel Aviv for sponroship reasons, is a professional men’s basketball team from Tel Aviv, Israel. Nicknamed the Reds (HaAdumim), the club competes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League and in EuroCup Basketball, playing home games at the Shlomo Group Arena (the Drive In).
Founded in the 1930s, Hapoel Tel Aviv became one of Israeli basketball’s traditional powers, earning a reputation for passionate support, competitive spirit, and a storied city rivalry with Maccabi Tel Aviv. The club has celebrated numerous domestic honours, including league titles and State Cups. After financial difficulties in the late 2000s, supporters re-established the team under fan ownership, restoring the Hapoel ethos and guiding a return to the top division. In recent years the club has strengthened its standing both domestically and in Europe, recognised for its community focus and a squad that blends homegrown talents with international players.
