The Tigers are the football team of Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. They compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the NCAA and play in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Grambling State has fielded a football team since 1928. Until 1951, the team competed as an independent school. In 1952, the Tigers joined the Midwestern Conference, where they remained for 5 years. Since 1958, Grambling State has been a member of the SWAC.
The team's home stadium is named after Eddie Robinson, who coached the Tigers for 56 years. Robinson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
