NJ/NY Gotham FC, often shortened to Gotham FC and historically known as Sky Blue FC, is a professional women’s football club based in Harrison, New Jersey, United States. They compete in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the top tier of women’s football in the United States.
Founded in 2006, the club initially played in the W-League and Women’s Professional Soccer before becoming a founding member of the NWSL in 2013. For much of their early NWSL history they were known as Sky Blue FC and played home matches at various venues in New Jersey. In 2021 the club rebranded to NJ/NY Gotham FC, adopting a new name, crest and colours to emphasise ties to both New Jersey and New York and to signal a reset in culture and ambition.
The team has featured numerous international stars and United States national team players over the years. A major milestone came when Gotham FC won the NWSL Championship in 2023, the first league title in club history, marking their transformation from long-time underdogs into one of the league’s leading sides.
