Goose is a band from Connecticut, USA. The group formed in 2014 with members Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weeks, and Ben Atkind, who had played together in Vasudo along with lyricist Matt Campbell. Their lineup expanded with multi-instrumentalist Peter Anspach joining in 2017 and percussionist Jeff Arevalo in 2020, followed by Cotter Ellis in 2024. Known for their eclectic indie groove sound, Goose draws influences from jam bands like Phish and Umphrey's McGee, distinguishing themselves with a blend of indie rock and trance.
The band gained significant traction following their performance at The Peach Music Festival in 2019, which propelled them into the jam band scene. Notably, they released a 20-minute jam of Vampire Weekend's "2021" appreciated by Ezra Koenig, the band's frontman. Their unique style is reflected in live mixes done by Anspach post-concerts. Goose's fourth studio album, "Everything Must Go," was released in 2025 with its first single "Give It Time." Despite internal changes, they remain a significant force in the live music scene.
