4 Days of fabulous golf. I had a great time !
I had a great experience at the Sony Open. It gets harder to logistically get there every year. There used to be shuttles that came close to our hotel the Hale Koa but no longer. I had to walk probably 1 1/2 mile to catch a bus. The same for my return afterwards. That’s hard when you’re 76 years old and a veteran at that. I wished they came to the Hale Koa to pick up the veterans that would like to go. I come every year but I don’t know how much longer if they make anymore difficult.
Love the venue. However, it would be helpful if there were more free water stations or at least allow us to bring unopened water bottles or bottles to refill.
The current policies for audience engagement at this event are deeply disappointing and counterproductive. Requiring spectators to remain an excessive distance from the golfers undermines the very essence of attending a live golf event—connecting with the game and its players. Moreover, prohibiting small cameras is baffling in today’s world, where capturing memorable moments is part of the experience. Most concerning, however, is the ban on personal water bottles. This policy not only feels inconsiderate but also shows a lack of regard for basic audience comfort and well-being.
I strongly urge the organizers to take notes from the Hoakalei LPGA event, which has set a benchmark for being genuinely audience-friendly. Their thoughtful approach fosters a welcoming and enjoyable experience, treating attendees as valued participants rather than an afterthought.
Unless these restrictive and unfriendly policies are revisited, I cannot, in good faith, recommend anyone purchase tickets to this event. Audience satisfaction is the backbone of any successful event, and failing to address these issues risks alienating loyal fans. It’s time to prioritize your attendees and create an experience worthy of their support.
Reason did not attend (first time in 14 years) was because the 2024 venue had practically zero capability for handicap or limited handicap to move around course. I was able a couple of times to catch a ride with a very nice volunteer w/cart to go out to 2 and 8, and another time to go up to the 10/14 tee area. It was very difficult getting back from those areas to the club house area and bus lot area.
Venue management advertised there was handicaped capability, but they lied. Didn't want to take chance and be very limited to just access to clubhouse area.
The event was super perfect, starting from the pick up busses at the car park always available, the attendance at the hospitality tee front desk very efficient, the service at the marquee very professional and the entertainment at the sun valley very good and relaxing. I rate it 10.
as always it was a great experience, the attention to detail is really on a next level and as spectator nothing to complain about, a suggestion is to make all guests more aware that there are no cash or card transaction on the course available and the pre loaded card must obtained when entering, suggestion is that all Nedbank card holders are able to use their cards
Really enjoyed the day however there were no seats to watch the golf as I’m a little infirm , hospitality would have been perfect . I did ask about this prior to the event .
Everything in good order but we paid Euro 25 for our entrance-tickets but it seemed to be free entrance. No ticket-control whatsoever. We have been fooled…
My wife and I purchased tickets to attend the tournament. However, with the destruction of two hurricanes, our vacation arrangements in Indian Shores were canceled by our realtor. Therefor we were unable to attend and ate the tickets and parking. We were hoping to see the course that we played so many times before new ownership took over the course and made it private. We did watch part of the tournament on telivision from Pittsburgh.
Sorry, I could not make to Dubai due to health reasons. I had the pleasure of watching the tournament live on Fox TV. I was glad to see Rory win again, his game was superb, and I’m sorry that Hogarth fell away at the end.

The course was in excellent shape, as always. Fresh fruit or bags trail, mix an alternative to the potato chips.
More shaded areas and more water dispensers needed.
More footpaths that do not need clambering over dunes and long grass especially on front 9
I worked as a volunteer in the scoring tent and quit. I have been a volunteer for more than 13 years with LPGA. This was the first time I was treated very badly by a person on [the organiser's] team. He was demeaning and disrespectful.
Went to see the practice on the Wednesday and were allowed in through gates. Walking to the golf course an extremely aggressive official approached us as if we were a threat to security. This official claimed that nobody goes to watch pro ams on the Wednesday before the tournament. We explained we go to many tournaments across the world and have on many occasions watched pro ams. However this lpga official (Thai man) escorted us to the gate as if we had done something wrong. I can't remember his name but he really should not be allowed contact with golf fans/paying customers. However we watched to golf on Thursday and enjoyed every bit. Delighted to see Patty grab a home win.
Nice time. Just make sure that you’re behind the ropes in certain areas. Got tripped up thinking I was not in the way. Actual polite and curtious if it seems like you’re safe. Meaning like location happened between at 16⛳️ and like 13. Not really thinking that far distance away I actually was in the crosswalk.
