Loved the experience! Transportation in shuttles needs much improvement though. We waited one hour for a shuttle at the pro shop at Kapalua on Thursday. Also, need more shade structures throughout the grounds. Raise the price to pay for them. We did pay $200 each for Sunday final at the Lanai - not enough seats for everyone.
My comments are made in the interest of helping to improve the visitor experience. Not to criticize. I had a great time there.....I know its a challenge providing services at elevation BUT....
1) Having at station amongst the food and beverage vans at the cross of 3 and 9 and not having water stations at the higher points on the course such as the top of 16 or on top of 5 is ludicrous. After those long climbs a water station would have been very nice.
2)Port a potty's should have been available up top too.
3)During the Mid day when a shuttle bus isn't needed between the parking and the course. It could be utilized to haul seniors to the higher elevations. That would be a very nice gesture.
Entry gate very confusing. Ask question no one seemed to know the answers. ADA area was unknown to everyone so i am not sure there was one. Prices were extremely high. I had Lanai Club tickets, and the tent was 150 yards from the 18th green, you could not see anything. Many of the people who said they had attended the tournament for many years (10+) said that the tent in the past had been right on the green. The tents on the green where both corporate tents!!! The open public seating area was only around 50 yards off the green. The seats were very uncomfortable. I have attended many PGA/LPGA tournament in the Tulsa area and they were head and shoulders better run than this one. Very disappointed and I paid a high-ticket price for nothing extra!!!!
Very crowded grandstand along 18 fairway. Location of grandstand made it very difficult to see where tee shots went and could not see where second shot landed near or on green. Use of grandstand was useless.
We enjoyed our day at the TOC event. The course is very difficult to walk but my decision to pay for seats on the 8th hole was a very good choice. We.spent a few hours at this spot and then walked backed to hole numbers 9 & 18.
An extremely hard course for spectators to walk and nothing to compensate, eg the odd bench to break it up. Even the players used carts to manage several inclines. I saw nothing in the tournament marketing materials that forewarned spectators about walk ability - or lack of.
Fantastic experience. My wife who had no prior interest in golf loved it. Wants to come back next year but we cannot find the exact date anywhere? What is it??? Thanks for everything.
it was nice
Great experience all round! Well organised. Compliments to those responsible!
I enjoyed being there.
Great getting up close to the players.
Lots of good viewing holes on a terrific course.
Just let down with only one toilet for the public in the main F&B area and a course map that didn't match the holes of the day.Very confusing!
Parking and shuttle bus is some way a way and not well advertised or sign posted.
Great day overall though.
Nice event but terrible parking management. Took over 2 hours to get out of the car park.
Excellent few days at the DP Race to Dubai final event. Easy access in and out and around the course. Only down side no catering around the course. However this did not spoil my attendance.
Not a very gallery friendly course or viewing areas. Gallery ropes left poor views of most tee boxes(below the tee box and below the tee box signs) or off the course and force walking on the slopes of the hills. The walk from the train station was much longer than stated. I found the bus line to the overpass/train station the second day. Save lots of time and energy. The tickets were good value, but would have liked to have know earlier Who was in the field. Lots of the top players where not there.
It was a great day. Enjoyed the tournament very much. I just wish that some seats would be provided in locations beyond the entrance. At 70 yrs old, 5 hrs of walking and standing was tough.
The communication of entry location, parking prebuy, parking on arrival, chairs, bag size, water, food, alcohol were all not able to be found on the web. This review would be a 1 star if the property wasn't so beautiful.
Maybe LIV can communicate in the future! The amount of fans will certainly shrink if LIV thinks the fans will guess what they can and can't bring.
Not allowed - chairs but some people did have chairs. Sunscree not allowed so get ready to throw away that $8 50% sunblock after one use. Water bottle yes if you empty the water in front of the ticket line. 6" x 6" purse maximum but lots of people brought backpacks, huh??
One star BS should be a lot better.
The event needs to be more ADA friendly. There was nowhere for a non wheelchair limited mobility attendee to sit. PGA tournaments at least have a general admission bleachers. Very disappointed in having to walk up steps to reach main entrance
Una experiencia extraordinaria, magnífico evento, pensamos regresar en el 2023⛳️💯👏👏👏
Very interesting venue. Would love to play it. Easy walk.
Nice and relaxed atmosphere was fun
