📜 Gold Coast Suns History
Established first as a regional team in Queensland 2 years before its admission to the AFL, the Gold Coast Suns attracted much media attention in its early years, which only increased following the controversial signing of then-rugby league player Karmichael Hunt, who joined the club in 2010.
In its debut AFL season, the Gold Coast Suns won just 3 matches, although this included a victory in the so-called "QClash" derby match against fellow Queenslanders Brisbane Lions. The Suns eventually finished bottom of the table.
