The Paladins are the football team of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. They compete in the Football Championship Subdivision of the NCAA and play in the Southern Conference.
Furman claims 14 conference titles, all won as members of the Southern Conference. Of the 14, 7 have been shared victories and 7 won outright by the Paladins. The college has been part of the Southern Conference since 1936, with several spells as an independent school prior to that year.
Billy Napier, who went on to work as head coach of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and the Florida Gators, played as a quarterback during his time at Furman.
The team plays their home games at Paladin Stadium, which has a capacity of 16,000.
