Chaillot, Champs Elysées, Gros-Caillou, and Grenelle may be the most pricey neighbourhoods in Paris, but they encompass many of its biggest landmarks. The Rue de Champs Elysées, Eiffel Tower, and Arc de Triomphe are all within walking distance.

For a true Parisian experience, stay in creative and bohemian Saint Germain des Pres. This neighbourhood, known for its cafes and jazz bars, has been the home of some of Paris’ most influential writers, artists, and musicians of the 20th century.

The centrally located Marais and Latin Quarter, which sit on opposite sides of the Cathedral Notre-Dame, are the city’s hippest hangouts. But while Marais, home of the LGBTQ+ community, offers trendy wine bars and swoony hotels particuliers (townhouses), the historic Latin Quarter is all about bohemian boutiques, bookshops, and student-filled bars.

With everything from sleek wine bars to dingy dive bars and an assortment of clubs, Oberkampf and South Pigalle are the epicentre of Parisian nightlife. Head a few streets north to Pigalle to find yourself in the sultry glow of the red light district.

Families may prefer the quiet and quaint Montmartre neighbourhood in northern Paris. With narrow cobbled streets and small independent shops and cafes, it exudes a village-like charm.

With an underground train service, a metro, and regular buses, it’s easy to explore Paris from wherever you stay.
