Florence + The Machine is a British indie rock project led by singer and songwriter Florence Welch. Based in London, England, the group blends indie rock, alternative rock, art rock, indie pop and baroque pop with Welch’s powerful vocals and dramatic arrangements.
Formed in 2007, they broke through with the debut album "Lungs" featuring "Dog Days Are Over" and a celebrated cover of "You’ve Got the Love". Subsequent albums "Ceremonials", "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful", "High as Hope" and "Dance Fever" cemented their status, yielding singles such as "Shake It Out", "Spectrum (Say My Name)", "Ship to Wreck", "Hunger", "King" and "Free". The project has earned BRIT Awards, Grammy nominations and a Mercury Prize shortlist, and is acclaimed for theatrical live performances and rich, orchestral production that continues to evolve in contemporary releases.
