Feyenoord Rotterdam – usually referred to simply as Feyenoord – is a football club based in Rotterdam in the Netherlands and currently competing in the country's top tier Eredivisie. Feyenoord plays its home games at Feyenoord Stadium which is affectionately nicknamed "De Kuip".
After being founded in 1908 under the name Wilhelmina, the team eventually settled on SC Feijenoord in 1912, after its neighborhood. This has evolved over the decades to become the club's current name. Feyenoord is one of the most successful teams in Dutch football, having won Johan Cruyff Shields, KNVB Cups, Dutch football championships, as well as a European Cup, UEFA Cups, and an Intercontinental Cup. The club has competed in the top division of Dutch football on a consistent basis since 1921.
Feyenoord is known as "De club van het volk" or the club of the people and has a sizeable following in the Netherlands and around the world.
