Football Club Lorient Bretagne Sud - more commonly known as FC Lorient or simply Lorient - is a French professional football club based in Lorient, Brittany and currently playing in the country's top tier Ligue 1. The club plays home games at Stade du Moustoir.
Founded in April 1926, the club was created from La Marée Sportive and won its first league title in 1932. Lorient has had mixed success but was most recently promoted to the top tier at the end of the 2019/20 season when the club was crowned champions of Ligue 2. The club is known as a springboard club with many successful players starting their careers there.
