The FA Community Shield is the annual curtain-raiser of the English football season, contested between the Premier League champions and the FA Cup winners of the previous campaign. It was founded in 1908 as the Charity Shield – proceeds go to charity and community initiatives – and was initially contested between a professional team and a top amateur side until the current format was settled on in 1930.
In 2026, Arsenal took the FA Community Shield glory as the Premier League champions beat FA Cup winners Manchester City 3-0.
