Whilst the city centre location of the stadium means it is easy to find, it also means that travelling by car may be a stressful option on event days, as roads are likely to be very busy in and around the stadium.

There is no car parking at the Principality Stadium itself, with the exception of a number of disabled spaces which are available to book on an event-by-event basis. There are 3 private car parks (Castle Court NCP car park, NCP Wood Street, and Cardiff Central NCP car park) within 500 m (6 min) of the stadium; you can expect these to be busy on event days, but they are the best option for those looking to park nearby.

Park & ride

Whilst the X59 "Cardiff East" park and ride service which previously operated from Llanrumney has been discontinued, an alternative bus route, the 59, now runs between St. Edeyrns (Church Road) and Cardiff City Centre (Churchill Way), without stopping at the Cardiff East park and ride site. From Monday to Saturday, the 59 departs from St. Edeyrns approximately once an hour, between 07:03 and 18:05; on Sundays there is a reduced service which operates between 07:03 and 16:50. The last return bus from the city centre departs at 18:40, Monday to Saturday, with a reduced service on Sunday which ends at 17:25. 

Please note that the H59 park and ride service still runs between Cardiff East and University Hospital Wales. To view the exact timetables of either the 59 or H59 buses, please check the Cardiff Bus website.

An event day taxi rank is located on Engineers Way next to Wembley Arena 300 m (4 min) walk from the stadium.

Coaches

Cardiff city centre is highly accessible via coach travel from many UK cities, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, and even Edinburgh. On event days, coaches often park at Sophia Gardens, located only 950 m (11 min) north of the stadium on foot, and for regular coaches, Cardiff Coach Station is only a 800 m (10 min) walk from the stadium.

Please note that on large event days, some of the above bus stops may be within the bounds of temporary road closures, and so services may either take a diverted route, or terminate 1 or 2 stops early. On these days, however, it is still be possible to access the city centre by bus.

Park & ride

There are currently no park and ride services operating to and from Cardiff city centre. For more information, see the Parking section. When purchasing tickets through Manchester City, you'll have the option to add official coach travel to your basket at checkout for £50 per adult and £40 for juniors.
