Bad place to volunteer!
Had a great time here. We went on a Friday, and it wasn't full. There are people who will sit in the front seats who haven't paid for them.
Exciting and well presented. Huge talent and wonderful horses and riders.
Only criticism for such a wonderful event is the very poor lack of decent places to eat. If you don't pay extra for the expensive seats then the choice is really poor. An expensive event which will discriminate those less fortunate. Make it more affordable even the car parking is extortionate. Good event if you have money.
As usual, an excellent event. however, the Pavilion is too expensive and there should be a quicker way into the car park for 4-day pass holders.
I booked my tickets through Ticketmaster which was a nightmare. It would not send a code to my Barbados mobile #, which is not helpful. I had tickets in the North Stand, because the ticket site is so poot, I could not access the Grand Stand, although I mad my booking in early March 2025. The sound system was poor, commentators spoke too fast and we could not hear much of the information. Wifi is not available outside the main hall, we are in 2025!!! will the situation be upgraded for 2026?? The exhibitions, food stalls activities in outdid rings all well organised. People help full and friendly.
Fabulous day out. Perhaps people should not be allowed to enter during jumping. We spent a large part of the afternoon standing up and sitting down while others went out for food and drinks.
I attend the Rds every year, this year was the 150 anniversary. I was very disappointed with the organisation or lack there of, for the Aga Khan, it took over 40mins queuing to get to out seats, it was very poorly managed, one entry into the stand on either end and everyone trying to get in and exit. The event had started and people we still trying to get to there seats. When the event was finished there was another lengthy wait to get out.
Fabulous again, My 4th year visiting RDS.
Being a two decade attendee and fan of the horse show I was very disappointed that the normal levels of ticket checks and crowd control fell so much this year. The new temporary main arena stand was very comfortable and gave great venues of the successfully modified arena. However the access and ticket checks to gain entrance to the stand were exceptionally poor and led at times to 20 to 30 minute queues. There were many with walking difficulties and elderly who struggled to stand for these long periods in queues. The two access points to the stand probably would have just about managed to cater for the number of people if there was a better system of ticket checking implemented. Unfortunately the queue continued to back up on either entrance as there was only one person scanning tickets and one other checking tickets again to make sure seat for correct stand. If both checks had been done at the same time and then two staff were used to do the two checks of all it would have been more time efficient and stop people having to double back (passing the first check but not the second). There were also a large number of staff on the stand without a purpose who would have been better placed helping with ticket checking. I am disappointed I lost over an hour of the day queuing having to leave the stand to use the bathroom and purchase water. I hope next year the event can return to the previous well organised and better functioning event.
Badminton Horse trials, Grass Root competition 6/7 May.
A wonderful experience watching my god daughter being placed 4th in the 100 competition.
Vast majority of officials were friendly & helpful. the Stall holders were also very amiable , toilet facilities appeared plentiful, but Because of the crowds on 7th… many were over “subscribed” & found wanting late afternoon… . ( room for improvement?….through staff monitoring?)
Weather was fab… so everyone appeared to be having a wonderful time.
Only disappointment was misdirection by paid employees assuring us that after the cross country ,event, we could walk along the road leading from Badminton House to the luckington lane, as a member of our party was on crutches and we wanted to take the shortest route back to our cars parked in the car park field , wher “grass root” supporters had parked on Monday/ Tuesday. On reaching the gate , 2 steward type individuals, padlocked the gate and made it impossible to exit, just as we were approaching… very disappointing, as we had been directed that way because one of our part of 12 was using crutches after major knee surgery.
Fortunately in overall scheme of things it did not blight our day.
& we Hope to attend next year.
Great experience
One of the best, love how it is through the city parklands. Very well run. On final day show jumping, previous year commentator mentioned how many rails the competitor could get down and did I miss it as I couldn't hear it and felt that is really good. Love it though and Adelaide always puts on a great Event
Great Saturday evening performance as usual, shopping area can be busy and food expensive
Much improved
Better catering choices
Printed programs
It’s a shame the screen in the pavilion was not switched on until later. Otherwise most enjoyable
Great time but a shame there was only one screen and you couldn’t hear any commentary, no tannoy near and the dog agility, which was great fun, had an extremely loud commentary!
The disabled viewing was taken over by able bodied when it rained
Great event , wonderful team throughout the event and hospitality , large variety of refreshment stands and shopping to enjoy all the ones we visited were staffed by pleasant knowledgeable staff. Easy access and egress from the venue. In the hospitality we missed the all day tea and coffee, the round tables (we had a party of 7 so round is better) and less importantly but nevertheless still noticeable the complementary glass of bubbles when we arrived, all of which make a great day fantastic as it has been in previous years.
Fantastic day
Excellent show been to many international shows. You’ll never be as close to the action anywhere else. We’ll organized and great staff.
The grand stand tickets are a joke given the capacity, no where to sit! the audience are disgustingly rude and self entitled leaving their bags so no one else can sit
I would never to return again. Waste of money
Was a really good event. Pity that entry numbers and spectators seemed a but low. Parking on grounds would have been beneficial.
