Doves are an English rock band originating from Wilmslow, Cheshire, England. Known for their atmospheric sound in the alternative rock and indie rock genres. The band was formed by Jimi Goodwin and twin brothers Jez and Andy Williams. After initially performing under the name Sub Sub, they reinvented themselves as Doves in 1998. Their debut album, 'Lost Souls', released in 2000 to critical acclaim, cemented their place in the UK music scene.
The band followed up with successful albums like 'The Last Broadcast' and 'Some Cities', which received numerous accolades and chart success. 'The Last Broadcast' featured the hit single 'There Goes the Fear', which is one of their most well-known tracks. Doves announced a hiatus in 2010, before reuniting in 2018 and eventually releasing the much-anticipated album 'The Universal Want' in 2020.
