Odense

Odense is home to one of Denmark’s top-performing football teams, Odense Boldklub. The club plays in the Danish Superliga and their home games can be watched at the Nature Energy Park.

Odense, a small city situated on Denmark’s Funen Island, is as cool and contemporary as the country’s capital of Copenhagen, but with a historic twist. The city is famously known as the birthplace of composer Carl Nielsen and novelist Hans Christian Andersen. After walking within its fairytale-like medieval streets, stopping by its 16th-century water castle, and visiting Andersen’s childhood homes, it becomes oh-so clear to see where his creativity and imagination was sparked. Today, Odense sparks a new kind of creativity amongst its residents. The city’s historic buildings have been repurposed into cool cafes, artists' studios, performance venues, and independent boutiques.
