Royal Arena is a multi-purpose sports and entertainment indoor arena located in the Ørestad area of Copenhagen, Denmark.
History
The arena opened in 2017. With a capacity ranging between 12,000 and 17,000 depending on the event, it struck a balance between the 38,000-capacity Parken football stadium and smaller indoor arenas such as Brøndby Hall and Ballerup Super Arena, as well as providing Denmark with a counterpart to Sweden's Malmö Arena for hosting large domestic and international events.
Since opening its doors it has hosted a number of major sporting events including the 2018 IIHF World Championship and the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. It also hosted Denmark's first UFC event in 2019, and it has been used regularly for esports tournaments covering both League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
