Denmark's first official match came at the 1908 Olympic Games in London, a competition in which they recorded a 9-0 win over France on their way to earning a silver medal. Several Olympic medals have followed since, but the pinnacle of their achievements came in 1992 when they won the UEFA European Championship, having beaten defending champions the Netherlands and reigning world champions Germany along the way.
