Dave, also known as Santan Dave, is a rapper, singer, songwriter and producer from Streatham in South London, England. Emerging through online freestyles and early tracks like "JKYL+HYD" and "Thiago Silva", he quickly became known for introspective lyricism, storytelling and social commentary within UK rap and hip-hop.
His debut EPs and collaborations built a strong underground reputation, leading to his first UK number-one single "Funky Friday". Dave’s debut album "Psychodrama" was widely acclaimed for its conceptual depth, exploring mental health, identity and family, and won the Mercury Prize as well as major British industry awards. His second album, "We’re All Alone in This Together", further cemented his status, blending reflective tracks such as "Heart Attack" with hits like "Location" and "In the Fire".
Dave has since expanded into acting, appearing in the television series "Top Boy", and continues to shape contemporary British music, with later singles such as "Starlight" and "Sprinter" reinforcing his influence and versatility.
