The special festival is one of York's top meetings with several days of top-class horse racing taking place at the ideal location with a large pot of prize money for race winners. Kick off your summer with great entertainment and don your glad rags for a spectacular day at the races. Perhaps the highlight of the festival is the Dante Stakes, an unmissable Group 2 flat race. The event is named after Dante, the Yorkshire-trained winner of the Derby substitute at Newmarket in 1945.
