The Rams are the football team of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA and play in the Mountain Division of the Mountain West Conference.
Colorado State has won 15 conference titles and has been a member of 5 different conferences in the football program's history. In the late 19th and early 20th century, the Rams competed in the Colorado Football Association and then the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. These periods were followed by spells in the Skyline Conference and the Western Athletic Conference, as well as a brief moment of independence in the 1960s, before the school joined the Mountain West Conference in 1999.
The Rams are fierce rivals of the Colorado Buffaloes and the Wyoming Cowboys. They play their home games at Canvas Stadium, which has a capacity of 41,000.
