The Raiders are the football team of Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. They compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the NCAA and play in the Patriot League.
Established in 1890, the Raiders enjoyed a strong start to the twentieth century. In 1932, the team finished their season "undefeated, untied, and unscored upon" with a 9-0 game record and a scoring record of 234-0.
Colgate was relegated from Division 1-A to Division 1-AA, now the FCS, in 1982. The team has been a member of the Patriot League since 1986 and has won 10 conference championships since then. The most recent of these came in 2018, when the Raiders finished the season 10-2 with a conference record of 6-0.
The Raiders play their home games on Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium. They maintain rivalries with fellow New York colleges Cornell and Syracuse.
