Clave Especial is an American regional Mexican band from Salinas, United States. Formed in 2021 by cousins Alejandro Ahumada (lead vocals) and Leonardo Lomelí (lead guitar), later joined by Rogelio González, the trio fuse corridos, norteño and banda with contemporary urban touches and introspective lyricism.
Their first release, the live set "En Clave, Vol. 1 (En Vivo)", introduced fan favourite "El Tranki", followed by further live projects and the EP "Los Archivados". After signing to Jesús Ortíz Paz’s Street Mob Records in 2023, they broke through with "Rápido Soy". A partnership between Street Mob and Warner Music Latina in 2024 broadened their reach, alongside high-profile appearances including Festival ARRE and a ring-walk performance of "Kalashnikov" for boxer David Benavidez. Collaborations have been central, among them "No Son Doritos" with Luis R. Conriquez, "GPI" with Chino Pacas, and, with Fuerza Regida, "NO PASA NADA" and "COMO CAPO". Their 2025 debut studio album, "MIJA NO TE ASUSTES", featuring several leading acts, charted on the US Billboard 200 and earned RIAA certification. The band was also named a Spotify Latin "Artists To Watch" in 2025.
