The China Masters, currently known as the Li-Ning China Masters and previously known as the Fuzhou China Open, is a relatively recent addition to the international badminton scene, having been added to the BWF tour in 2007 as a Super Series event. Following the restructuring of the BWF circuit in 2018, the China Masters became known as the Fuzhou China Open, and was integrated into the Super 750 tour tier, the second-highest tour level, meaning the event currently boasts strong player fields and international prestige. Many promising Chinese badminton players also cut their teeth at this event, coming up against seasoned professionals from around the world on home territory. You may therefore get a chance to see the stars of the future at the China Masters, as well as some more established athletes.
The China Masters is currently hosted within the "Spring Cocoon" gymnasium, located at the Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, in the city of Shenzhen. From the 2023 edition, the event return to its original name, the China Masters, for the first time since 2018.
