Chevelle is an American rock band from Grayslake, Illinois, United States, formed in 1995 by brothers Pete Loeffler (vocals, guitar) and Sam Loeffler (drums), with their brother Joe Loeffler as the original bassist. Their music blends alternative metal, hard rock and alternative rock, with early traces of nu metal and post-grunge.
The band gained a major breakthrough with their second album "Wonder What's Next" (2002), propelled by the singles "The Red" and "Send the Pain Below". Subsequent albums include "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)" (2004), "Vena Sera" (2007), "Sci-Fi Crimes" (2009), "Hats Off to the Bull" (2011) featuring "Face to the Floor", "La Gárgola" (2014), "The North Corridor" (2016) and "Niratias" (2021). Joe left in 2005 and was succeeded by Dean Bernardini (2005–2019), after which the Loefflers have continued as the core members with collaborators. Known for muscular riffs and melodic hooks, Chevelle remains an enduring presence in modern hard rock.
