Charlie Puth, born Charles Otto Puth Jr. on 2 December 1991, is an American singer, songwriter and producer from Rumson, New Jersey, United States. Working mainly in pop and R&B, he is known for his perfect pitch and meticulous, self-produced recordings.
He first gained attention through YouTube covers, leading to a deal with Ellen DeGeneres’ label after performing on her show. His breakthrough arrived in 2015 with the singles "Marvin Gaye" and Wiz Khalifa’s "See You Again", the latter topping charts worldwide and earning Golden Globe and multiple Grammy nominations. His debut album "Nine Track Mind" included the hit "We Don’t Talk Anymore", while "Voicenotes" produced the global single "Attention" and received a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album.
Puth’s third album "Charlie" (2022) featured "Light Switch" and "Left and Right". His fourth album "Whatever’s Clever!" continues his blend of polished pop and confessional songwriting. Beyond his own work, he has co-written and produced hits such as "Stay" for Justin Bieber and the Kid Laroi.
