๐ Charleston Southern Buccaneers Football History
After 2 seasons as a club football team, the Buccaneers achieved NCAA Division III status in 1991. Following an NCAA rule change that required all a school's sports to compete in the same division, however, the team moved to Division I in 1993.
Since the program's founding, Charleston Southern has been a member of the Big South Conference. The team won conference championship titles in 2005, 2015, and 2016, although the first title was shared with Coastal Carolina and the 2016 title with Liberty.
