The Charles Schwab Challenge, commonly referred to as the Colonial National Invitation, is a men's professional golf event on the PGA Tour. Since its inaugural edition in 1946, this event has always been hosted by the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
It has developed a unique tradition over the years, whereby former winners of the tournament select 2 young players who would otherwise be ineligible to compete – the likes of Davis Love III and Jordan Spieth are among those whose first appearance at this event was as a Champion's Choice.
In 2003, Annika Sorenstam made history when she became the first woman to play in a PGA Tour event in 58 years when she entered the competition.
