The Fighting Camels are the football team of Campbell University in Bules Creek, North Carolina. They compete in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of the NCAA and play in CAA Football.
📜 Campbell Fighting Camels Football History
Campbell University fielded a football team from 1925 until 1950, but the program was cancelled at the onset of the Korean War. The college did not compete in football again for 58 years.
In 2008, football returned to Campbell and the Fighting Camels joined the FCS. For 9 years the team competed in the Pioneers Football League, before spending 4 years in the Big South Conference between 2018 and 2022.
In advance of the 2023 season, Campbell joined CAA Football, a separate football league that is run by the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).
The Fighting Camels play their home games at Barker-Lane Stadium.
