Cádiz Club de Fútbol, S.A.D. - more commonly known as Cádiz CF or simply Cádiz - is a Spanish professional football club based in Cadiz, Andalusia and currently playing in the country's top tier La Liga. The club plays home games at Nuevo Mirandilla.
Established in September 1910, José Rivera y Lora, the first president of Cádiz was one of the founders of the club. The team spent a period between the 1930s and late 1970s playing in either the second or third tier of the Spanish football league system but in 1977, they were promoted to La Liga for the first time. Since then, Cádiz has played in the top and second tiers. Perhaps the most famous player to wear the shirt was Mágico González who played for them in the 1980s to 1990s.
