The Bulls are the football team of the University at Buffalo (UB) in Amherst, New York. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the NCAA and play in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
📜 Buffalo Bulls History
Buffalo fielded its first football team in 1894, and the Bulls competed as an independent program until 1925. In 1926, Buffalo joined the New York State Conference, but this membership lasted only until 1934.
Following another period of independence, in 1970 the student body voted to stop funding the football team. This led to the abandonment of the Bulls football program, and the school did not field a team for 7 years.
In 1977, Buffalo started to play Division III football. This lasted until 1993, when the team moved to Division I-AA (today known as the FCS).
The Bulls joined the Mid-American Conference and moved up to Division I-A (now the FBS) in 1999. In 2008, the team won its first MAC conference title.
