Brisbane Heat have been part of the Big Bash League since its inaugural season in 2011–12. Famous players to have pulled on the team's teal jersey include Brendon McCullum, AB De Villiers, and Daniel Vettori.
Brisbane Heat have reached the BBL playoffs on 4 occasions. In 2013, the franchise won its first Big Bash championship, defeating Perth Scorchers by 34 runs in the Final. The Heat took home their second of 2 BBL titles in 2024.
