Autódromo José Carlos Pace, or the Interlagos Circuit, is located in the south of São Paulo. Train and taxi are the most popular ways to reach the circuit, as official parking is not available.
Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Autódromo José Carlos Pace. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.
The circuit does not provide official on-site parking, but local São Paulo residents frequently rent out their parking spaces during major events. These will be advertised with signs that should also offer pricing information.
Taxis and rideshare services are readily available in São Paulo, but the traffic around the circuit during major events is extremely congested, making this a slower form of transport during the day.
Taxis or rideshare cars are frequently recommended for getting around the city at night, as they can offer a safer option for visitors and can usually be requested within a few minutes.
The São Paulo metro and overground train system is the most popular way to reach the track. Tickets are available from machines and ticket desks at every station, and the Bilhete Único smart travel card can be used for bus, metro, and train services. With these reloadable cards, a 3-hour period of travel costs around R$3.50 (USD $1). The metro runs from 04:30 to 00:00 from Sunday to Friday, and from 04:30 to 1:00 on Saturdays.
The closest station to the circuit is Estação Autódromo, on the overground Emerald Line (Linha) 9. The walk from the station takes 10-30 minutes, depending on the location of your seats at the circuit, but some visitors choose to book taxi services for the journey (at a cost of 10-20 pesos).
Many visitors walk to the circuit from the Estação Autódromo train station, which is approximately 1.5 km (18 min) away. Although this route is likely to be busy during major events, pedestrians should still remain aware of their surroundings and walk alongside other visitors to the circuit.
São Paulo is such a big and diverse city that accommodation can be found to suit all tastes and budgets. While the more central and touristy neighbourhoods like Centro Historico and Bela Vista offer everything from hostels to the finest high-end hotels, the smaller and more localised neighbourhoods offer everything from boutique hotels to budget rooms.
Food and drink stalls are provided around the circuit in each spectator zone, offering a variety of tasty options.
Fans may also bring their own food into the venue, with the following restrictions:
The circuit has 7 entry gates. Re-entry is not permitted, so if you leave the circuit you will not be able to come back on the same day with the same ticket.
Toilet facilities are provided around the circuit, and are cleaned regularly during events.
All the spectator areas and grandstands at the circuit are wheelchair accessible.
Autódromo José Carlos Pace has a capacity of approximately 60,000. However, the capacity does differ between events depending on the seating configuration.
