Blossoms are an indie pop band from Stockport, England. Formed in 2013, the group consists of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan and Myles Kellock. Their sound blends indie rock, synth-pop and psychedelic influences, characterised by melodic hooks and storytelling lyrics.
The band began building a following through early EPs and singles, with "Blow" and "At Most a Kiss" introducing their atmospheric, synth-tinged style. They broke through more widely with the single "Charlemagne", which led into their self-titled debut album "Blossoms". The record brought them significant critical attention and nominations for major British music awards including the Mercury Prize and Brit Awards, establishing them as one of the leading contemporary guitar bands in the UK.
Subsequent albums "Cool Like You", "Foolish Loving Spaces" and "Ribbon Around the Bomb" expanded their palette, incorporating disco, classic pop and more reflective songwriting. Key later singles such as "There's a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)" and "Your Girlfriend" demonstrated their flair for accessible yet imaginative pop, and they continue to tour and record as a prominent presence in modern British indie music.
