The Bad Homburg Open, known for sponsorship purposes as the Bad Homburg Open powered by Solarwatt, is a women's grass court tennis tournament held in the German town of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, situated on the northern edge of Frankfurt.
Despite lawn tennis having been played recreationally in Bad Homburg's Kurpark (spa park) since at least 1876, the professional tennis tour had not, until recently, had much of a presence in the town. The Bad Homburg Open was founded as a WTA 250 event in 2019, with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and German tennis player Angelique Kerber among the organisers. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, however, the first edition of the event was not held until 2021, when Kerber herself won the inaugural competition. More recent winners include Caroline Garcia and Kateřina Siniaková.
The Bad Homburg Open was upgraded to a WTA 500-tier event in 2024, increasing the importance of the tournament in the context of the women's tennis calendar, strengthening the player field for years to come, and opening the event up to a wider fanbase.
