Baby Keem, born Hykeem Jamaal Carter Jr. on 22 October 2000 in Carson, California, is an American rapper, singer and producer also known by aliases such as "2 Phone Baby Keem" and "Booman". Raised in Las Vegas, United States, he is associated with West Coast hip-hop, alternative hip-hop, trap, cloud rap and hyphy. A cousin of Kendrick Lamar, he first drew wider attention through contributions to "Black Panther: The Album" and Beyoncé’s "The Lion King: The Gift".
As a solo artist he broke through with the 2019 mixtape "Die for My Bitch" and its sleeper hit single "Orange Soda". His debut studio album "The Melodic Blue" arrived in 2021, spawning the Grammy-winning single "Family Ties" with Kendrick Lamar and further hits such as "Durag Activity". Subsequent collaborations including "The Hillbillies" and his 2026 album "Ca$ino" have cemented his reputation as an inventive, genre-blurring voice in contemporary rap.
