The Australia women’s national cricket team acquired its Test status in 1934 when it played a 3-match Test series against England. Since then, Australia Women have come to excel in all formats of international cricket. Together with England and New Zealand, Australia is one of only 3 nations to have played in every edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup since its inception. The team is the most successful in the competition, winning 6 world trophies (in 1978, 1982, 1988, 1997, 2005, and 2013). Australia has also lifted 5 Women’s T20 World Cup trophies (in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2020).
