The Tigers are the football team of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA and play in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Auburn is a hugely successful football program, claiming 2 national titles, 16 conference titles, and 12 undefeated seasons. In 1932, the Tigers were an inaugural member of the SEC, and the team has remained part of the conference ever since. When the SEC split into divisions in 1992, Auburn joined the Western Division, and went on to win 10 divisional titles in the next 30 years.
The Tigers have 2 longstanding and fierce rivals in the NCAA – the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs. Auburn plays Alabama each year in the Iron Bowl, and their rivalry game with Georgia is known as the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.
The Tigers play their home games at Jordan–Hare Stadium, which has a capacity of 87,451.
