Although autumn brings the cooler weather, things are heating up for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) this fall. With fan attendance finally returning to the wrestling scene in the US, the world’s biggest professional wrestling promotion now reveals an international tour expansion.
Kicking off the autumnal festivities in San Juan, WWE will return to Puerto Rico for a WWE Supershow for the first time in nearly 2 years. A live event is scheduled for 2 October at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, consisting of an all-star roster from both RAW and SmackDown divisions.
Some of the superstars currently advertised for this event are Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Rey Mysterio, Damian Priest, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, and Sasha Banks. Tickets for the San Juan Supershow are already on sale, starting at $20 for a standard adult ticket.
Keeping up with the seasonal spirit, it's been reported that the first-ever WWE Queen of the Ring tournament is scheduled to air over RAW and SmackDown in October. The all-women's tournament will see the best of the best go toe-to-toe in the ultimate fight for female wrestling supremacy. Venues for the matches have not been confirmed yet; however, the Queen of the Ring is currently scheduled to begin on 8 October for a SmackDown special, followed by a RAW episode on 11 October.
Since 1985, the WWE has held annual King of the Ring tournaments, so hopefully, it will also become a tradition for the female version of the event. Aspiring champions who will most likely be competing for the title will include crowd favourites Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, and many more!
It is unknown whether a King of the Ring tournament is also to take place over the coming months; however previous reports have suggested that a King of the Ring is planned for either late 2021 or early 2022.
The finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia on 21 October. It will be the first time since February 2020 that WWE returns to the Kingdom due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where WWE stopped touring for over a year and was forced to ban spectators from attending shows.
This will not be the first international post-pandemic tour for WWE, however. The company has already announced a tour of the United Kingdom for September, starting at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle on 19 September, followed by a show at London's O2 Arena on 20 September. The action will continue in Cardiff at the Motorpoint Arena on 21 September and finishes with a show at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on 22 September. Tickets are already on sale for all venues, starting at £25 for standard tickets at the O2 arena date. Attendees will also be able to purchase premium fan packages and "meet & greet" experiences!
With all this excitement going on this autumn, who needs Christmas?!
Tickets for all Queen of the Ring events have yet to go on sale, so be sure to favourite WWE to your Koobit account interests to keep up with all the latest news and future ticket sales for Queen of the Ring!
