The World Aquatics Championships are traditionally held ever y other year, but interruptions and postponements from the covid-19 pandemic mean the event will be hosted annually from 2022 to 2025. Earlier this year, the Japanese city of Fukuoka hosted the Championships, and almost 2,400 athletes took part in the global festival of pool-based sports.
In 2024, the competition will move to Doha, the capital city of Qatar. Events are split between 3 venues:
- Aspire Dome – swimming (11-27 February), artistic swimming (2-10 February), water polo (4-17 February)
- Hamad Aquatic Center – diving (2-10 February)
- Old Doha Port – open water swimming (3-8 February), high diving (13-15 February)
Spectators can enjoy the open water swimming races by simply showing up to the Old Doha Port and finding a good viewing spot.
All other events at the Championships are ticketed, and those tickets are now on sale! Swimming, artistic swimming, and water polo can be enjoyed with either Category 1 or Category 2 tickets – the former offering the best views and the latter presenting the most affordable option. Only Category 1 seating is available for diving and high diving events.
Fans can purchase tickets for individual sessions in each discipline, or Multi Session Passes that cover all sessions in that discipline on a given day. Single session Category 2 tickets start at QAR 20 (USD $5).
