The 15-time major winner is listed among the top names confirmed to be appearing at this year’s tournament in Augusta National, which takes place from 8-14 April. Woods has not made many appearances since he was seriously injured in a car crash in 2021, and he also missed out on the Genesis Invitational in February due to flu.
He’s no stranger to producing moments of magic at Augusta, though; he’s won the Masters on 5 occasions – only Jack Nicklaus has a greater collection of green jackets with 6. His most recent victory came in 2019, 11 years after his last major victory, when all but his most ardent fans had given up hope of ever seeing him win another. While another sensational win would seem unlikely in 2024, fans will be able to treasure what could be one of the last times they get to see Woods play this iconic course.
Woods will be joined by defending champion Jon Rahm and many other former winners including Scottie Scheffler, Dustin Johnson, and Sergio Garcia, as well as stars still hoping to earn their first green jacket such as Rory McIlroy. The Masters remains the only major to elude McIlroy, although it has been 10 years since he last won a major title.
Although the ticket application process for the 2024 Masters was conducted in June last year, if you’re eager to see Woods, McIlroy, et al. in the flesh then resale tickets are available, starting at USD $1,523. Alternatively, off-site VIP hospitality experiences – which don’t grant entry into the event itself – are also available from $258, if you want to feel the atmosphere around Augusta from nearby.
