Founded in 1973 in Hilton Head, South Carolina, the Credit One Charleston Open is well-known for its unique green clay surface, but it is also one of the most important tournaments in the history of women’s tennis. The event has not only showcased such esteemed champions as Chris Evert, Tracy Austin, Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Martina Hingis, Justine Henin, and Venus and Serena Williams, but it was also the first female event to offer USD $100,00 in prize money, and the first to be broadcast on US network television. Now part of the WTA 500 tour, and held in Charleston, a short trip up the coast from Hilton Head, the Charleston Open remains a hugely important part of the women’s professional tennis circuit.
The 2023 Charleston Open, which will be the second edition of the event to make use of the Family Circle Tennis Center’s impressive 11,000-capacity Credit One Stadium, is set to take place between 1-9 April. Excitement is already building for the tournament, with current top-15 stars Paula Badosa and Jessica Pegula already announced as early singles draw commitments. With so much to love about the event, and so much to look forward to ahead of next year’s tournament, the only thing left to do is book your tickets!
Single session tickets are available in the Terrace Seating and General Admission sections of the Credit One Stadium. Adult ticket prices in the Terrace Seating sections start from USD $37, whilst in the General Admission areas prices start at just $10. There are also plenty of ticketing discounts available in both categories, providing children, seniors, and military personnel the perfect opportunity to see the latest instalment of this historic tournament.
Closer to the event, Terrace Seating tickets will also be available to purchase as “Daily Double” tickets, which include 2 sessions on a given day, and as multi-day package tickets. Be sure to add the event to your Koobit interests, so you can be notified when these other ticket types become available!
