The Holidays have always been a popular time for pro-wrestling. Whether it's family tradition, a Christmas treat, or just an escape from the bleak midwinter, there's no better time to enjoy some larger-than-life entertainment than during the festive season – and this year will be no different. Between 16 December 2024 – 7 January 2025, WWE & AEW are set to host a combined total of more than 20 events across North America, making it a very merry Christmas and happy new year for fans of stars like Cody Rhodes and Will Ospreay.
The festive calendar is set to begin with WWE's Monday Night Raw in Boston on 16 December, after which the action doesn't slow down until mid-January. For AEW fans, the highlights will surely include the company's 3-night run at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City between 20–22 December. The run of shows will be AEW's first visit to the iconic venue, which has a rich wrestling history, including playing host to ECW in the early 2000s. The Hammerstein Ballroom stint will be quickly followed by AEW's final pay-per-view event of the year, Worlds End, at Addition Financial Center in Orlando on 28 December.
For many wrestling fans, WWE shows have become an annual Christmas event, and the company's popular Holiday Tour returns in 2024, with stops in cities like Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, and Chicago between 26–29 December. The most highly-anticipated night of the festive stretch is likely to be on 26 December at Madison Square Garden – a legendary venue synonymous with WWE and a traditional Boxing Day stop for the organisation. While visits to Houston and Phoenix will help welcome in the new year for WWE fans, all eyes will soon turn towards Monday Night Raw on 6 January in Los Angeles, which will be the first WWE episode to air live on Netflix, ushering in a new era of pro-wrestling on mainstream TV.
