Although the golf course is actually in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, Centurion Club has become one of the top destinations for London-based golf events in recent years. The club opened in 2013, and it quickly proved its hosting credentials by putting on the first 2 editions of the GolfSixes series – unofficial money team tournaments on the European Tour – in 2017 and 2018. It is now the home of 2 exciting new events in the LIV Golf League and on the Ladies European Tour, and you can visit both this summer.
LIV Golf London, 7-9 July
In June 2022, the London edition kicked off the inaugural LIV Golf season as the first of 8 events that year. This year, the season has been expanded to 14 events, and the London leg – taking place from 7-9 July – will come with the campaign in full swing. Along with the Valderrama event the week before, the London tournament will be 1 of just 2 chances to see LIV Golf in Europe in 2023, with the other events spread across the United States, Mexico, Australia, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia.
As well as some of golf’s biggest names – from Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson to Sergio Garcia and Brooks Koepka – spectators will also be treated to a quicker, more streamlined version of the sport, and a more festival-like atmosphere than you’d normally find at traditional tournaments.
General admission Grounds tickets start at GBP £35, while there are a range of hospitality options starting at £144 per person. For more information on LIV Golf London, click here.
Aramco Team Series – London, 14-16 July
An exciting recent addition to the LET calendar has been the Aramco Team Series, which first debuted in 2021. These unique team events – which are held in a range of locations from London and Florida to Singapore and Riyadh – have introduced a brand-new format to the sport of golf.
Each event sees 36 teams of 4 players go head-to-head, with each team featuring 1 amateur player. The team with the lowest combined score after 3 days are crowned as winners, as is the individual player with the lowest score. At the London event in 2022, England’s Bronte Law won in style on home soil courtesy of a remarkable 55-foot eagle putt on the final hole, which saw her finish 1 stroke ahead of compatriot Georgia Hall.
Single-day general admission Grounds tickets start at just £9 for adults. For more information on the Aramco Team Series – London event, click here.
